Maps and Trails
Where position data shows up, including Google Maps handoff.
Position flows to four surfaces:
- Owner dashboard map (website) - "Where your pets are": a pin per pet at its freshest position (latest mesh ping first, mark-lost point as fallback), a dashed 24-hour breadcrumb trail, zone status chips, and one-tap "Open in Google Maps" links.
- App map - lost pets near you, tap a pin for details and "Open External Maps" (Google Maps, Waze, or whatever is installed).
- Location history (app) - the last 50 mesh pings for a pet: a trail map on top, a list below with tap-to-resolve street addresses.
- Public map (website) - every currently lost pet, for anyone; each links to its poster page.
All positions come from The Mesh Network - the accuracy is "the reporting phone's location", within Bluetooth range (roughly 10-50 m) of the pet.
